SCMA Safety Awards
On March 8, 2012, William Barnet & Son, LLC and Barnet Polymers, LLC were both recognized by the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance (SCMA) for outstanding workplace safety accomplishments during 2011. Facilities with a low rate of incidents resulting in lost workdays, job transfers, or restrictions were nominated for recognition. Plants submitting an incidence rate below the statewide average for their NAICS code received an award. The two awards were accepted by Barnet associates who participate on the Company’s safety committee.
"To ensure a successful business environment for South Carolina manufacturers, it is essential that we also ensure a safe working environment for our associates," said Steve Eberhardt, SCMA Plant Safety Conference Chairman and Corporate Safety Manager of AstenJohnson North America. "We are proud to recognize the achievements of our members for meeting and exceeding the standards of this ambitious award. By making the safety and health of our employees a top priority, it is evident that our members are committed to providing a safer, more prosperous South Carolina." The South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance is the only statewide organization dedicated exclusively to the interests of manufacturers. Its mission is to elevate the quality of life for all South Carolinians by advancing the state's manufacturing industry. The SCMA membership is comprised of more than 200 manufacturing companies that represent more than 80,000 associates in South Carolina.
Barnet is proud to be a member of the SCMA and honored to receive these awards.
